Custom FPV Quadcopter Drone

Designer and pilot of a custom-built FPV drone, from soldering and wiring to iterative flight testing. (Jun 2026 - Present)

I built this quadcopter completely from scratch, choosing every component myself and hand-soldering all of the wiring and connections. I'm currently in the middle of iterative flight testing and troubleshooting, tuning Betaflight settings and rebuilding parts of the frame as I go to improve durability and flight performance. Other Engineering Experience & Involvement

Purdue Aviation Research Club - Structures & Testing Team Member (Aug 2026 - Present): performing structural load analysis and wind tunnel testing to develop a Rogallo wing recovery system.

EPICS Electric Vehicle Event Infrastructure Team - Project Hardware Engineer (Aug 2025 - May 2026): designed a light meter cart frame in Onshape from real-world measurements, then assembled it using water jets and shop machinery and upgraded its steering and handle mechanisms.

Advanced Space Academy Program - Flight Hardware Technician (Jun 2024 - Jul 2024): built a heat shield and rover, launched and recovered a payload from a custom-built model rocket, and directed simulated Space Shuttle missions replicating NASA procedures.

UCLA Aircraft Engineering Design Course - Aerodynamics Lead (Jul 2023 - Aug 2023): designed and 3D printed custom airfoils and control surfaces for two RC aircraft, optimized their aerodynamic stability, and conducted successful test flights of both planes.

Undergraduate Teaching Assistant, Purdue College of Engineering (Jul 2026 - Aug 2026): mentored students in Python, MATLAB, and Excel and evaluated assignments during weekly office hours.

Technical skills: Siemens NX, Onshape, MATLAB, Python, Java, Betaflight, Excel, Word, Photoshop. Hardware skills: soldering, 3D printing, laser cutting, water jet, rotary tools, cable routing. Certified in the FAA Recreational UAS Safety Test (TRUST).
